If you thought the Chery J1 was China’s worst crime against motoring, prepare to have your mind positively exploded. This is, or was, a Lamborghini Gallardo – yep, the very same car that, in dog-eared poster format, has adorned teenagers’ walls for the best part of a decade.
Its crime? Breaking down. Its punishment? A public battering with sledgehammers. So what, I hear you ask, the hell is going on?
Welcome to Qingdao, in Eastern China, where the owner of this $500,000-ish supercar was so enraged after it broke down after a service that he paid a group of blokes to take the car apart using sledgehammers before a crowd of rightly horrified onlookers. It was all part of a public protest for World Consumer Rights Day, an event likely to resonate with the world’s biggest companies as loudly as World Donut Day, World Farm Animal Day or World Handwashing Day. And no, I didn’t make any of those up.
Oh the humanity, etc etc./Andrew Chesterton

How could you do that
maybe the world should have “Smash a underpowered, poorly built chinese car day”
Hope the dope that owned it was still sitting inside
A bit ironic, the Chinese complaining about a poorly made, shoddy product. Are you sure it wasn’t a counterfeit car?
That would be right, they keep the good sledgehammers for themselves, and sell us the ones that break on the first hit.
Alright stop! Hammer time…
Good to see the Lambo put up a good fight. But are those sledgehammers made from toothpicks? No wonder they take so long and have so many people building stuff. 2 Aussies with real sledgies could smash an entire great wall car in half the time. I cant wait for the video!
This is bloody disgusting to think about. How dare they do this to this wonderful beast
. So how much money does this idiot who bought it have?
what next, his Ferrari 458 which burst into flames on him.
So a Chinese man bought a Lambo – does that mean that in a months time I’ll be able to buy a “100% Genuine” Lambo for $250 at Paddy’s markets? I’m sure they aren’t actually destroying the car, this is just how the Chinese reverse engineer their counterfeits.
:O The poor car! What does the blithering idiot expect when he buys an Italian Supercar? Reliability to rival a Toyota? Why couldn’t they have beaten the owner of the car up instead? That way the lovely Lambo survives, and there’s one less idiotic moron in the world…
Nobody on the site understands about this. Honestly think about it. You are rich you have a Lambo that doesn’t work and a company that is treating you like trash. You smash your lambo to get back at em. Smash it. Lots of people now have seen this video and now know how unreliable these cars are. (People who dont know a lot about cars) People that have money might now take their money to Ferrari instead of Lamborghini. Great for Lambo NOT. Get it probably not but the smart people will.
OMG WTF ROFLOL ROFLOL while OMG’ing.
Are they real sledgies, I was able to read the previous 13 posts and scroll back up to the video, and the car still looked the same as the start of the video.
I’m sure those sledgies are the ones you buy in the toy store…… you know the ones that go squeak.
maybe we should squish something chinese….I know how about that new chery thing that has just come out.
That’s just freaking ridiculous-shows that some ppl are just plain f/wits no matter how rich or smart they are!
Whoah
they sure like there great walls and cherys so they get revenge by doing this
They’re being a bit girly with the sledgehammers. Those guys are good at torturing, not killing.
next thing you know Lamborghini shows this in an add stating we can take an hammering
he will probally claim it was hail damage on his insurance
