Gee willikers Batman!

Posted by Top Gear Australia at 10:27 am on Wednesday February 3, 2010

When we heard a dude in Perth had built a fully functioning replica of that awesome Tumbler from Batman Begins, we knew we had to get TopGear arch villain Isaac Bober on a plane.

This isn’t the Batmobile you saw in Batman Begins. But it could be. And we’re not in Gotham City, although… nah, there’s just no way you can’t mistake Fremantle for Gotham. Anyway.

The car you see here is a millimetre-perfect replica of the Batman Tumbler, and it was built by a couple of blokes in Perth who’d only seen a picture of the thing. It does everything you’d want your Tumbler to do, except shoot bullets and fly through the air. Okay, so it does almost everything you’d want your Tumbler to do.

But make no mistake, this thing’s the real deal. A V8 and NOS-powered fire-breathing beast that wants to cut your face off with a broken bottle. And it’s the most intimidating son of a bitch we’ve ever driven. But we drove it anyway. On the road. With police permission. Nice.

Read all about in the March issue of TopGear Australia magazine, but for now you can look, dream and drool.

Time to drive three hours to Perth… and steal the tumbler.

Then I will just paint it a different colour, and people will think it’s just a another tumbler… not that one. :P

    Titanium Metallic me thinks… ?
