Think you’re having a bad day? Well spare a thought for the poor bloke who tried his hand at a little fly fishing – using his $1.5 million Veyron as a lure.
And, just to rub a little salt in his multi-million dollar wound – the video of his hideously embarrassing predicament is fast becoming a YouTube sensation.
Police blame a low-flying pelican and a momentary lapse in concentration for the crash, but the man walked away with everything but his dignity intact. Sadly, the same can’t be said for the Veyron, which was left sitting in two feet of salty, muddy water.

That is by far and away the most horrible thing I’ve ever seen, but it always happens: a rich old fool buys a supercar, and because they are a fool, they then crash them. It’s not the owner I feel sorry for, it’s the $2.1 million hunk of metal that ended up in the drink. Not only did it cop a huge amount of salt, water, mud and probably fishes, but it also has a witless owner.
It isn’t speeding that kills, it’s the idiot behind the wheel that kills. And the Veyron is his first prey.
Ouch bet that hurt! Gutting! Don’t think he’ll be buying another one of those in a hurry.
R.I.P poor, poor, Veyron. If I had one I’d look after it.
hah ha ha… good on the pelican.
I’m not sure there would be all that much damage to the internals, motor etc, looks like its only shallow most of the go gear should have survived
this made me nearly cry.
i feel sick.
and i don’t need to say anymore because ColdFusion has already said it.
Some people don’t deserve the things they can afford to buy……
what bad luck!! its the curse of friday the 13th
Where did the crash actually happen?
I did a bit of research, and it happened near Galveston, Texas. An interesting thing that I found out was the fact that the driver was using a mobile phone at the time of the crash, and I’m sure that you can see the results of that.
Something I need to point out: Why did the police blame a low-flying pelican? Wouldn’t they instead be blaming the driver using a mobile phone whilst driving?
Watch it go off the road here. http://www.youtube.com/wa tch?v=6bI3uJo_5BQ
Pelicans. Pffft!
Here’s the original footage of the Veyron Crashing into the lake http://www.youtube.com/wa tch?v=GJa32RvAtPE
What do you expect from an american!!!
Must have dropped his slurrrpeee!!

By the way – this is nothing really – a guy crasshed his 8 million!! ferrari 250 at a classic meet in the uk last year.
front end was totalled
hard to get parts for a 50yo ferrari anyway -but when there were only about 10 made???
no pelican was involved

post 19-Ya see!!
check out the comments on this one – some knob reckons it will cost 5grand to fix!!
Back to the veyron – was that a Batman sticker on the door pillar??
Hope he bought the right insurance
(with the d/head clause in it!)
i’ll give him $50 dollars for it as is.
what a stupid driver! watch the footage of the actual crash. hes not even going fast. it looks like he deliberately drives into the water. if not deliberate, and if he lost control of it at that speed, then not only should he not be in a veyron, but not even driving at all! too much money, no skill, or sense
1st funnies – the guy in car taking video footage saying he thinks it’s a Lambo..
2nd funnies – the driver of Bugatti, the cops and or media saying was distracted by pelicans.. what pelicans?
What a load of dung, I’m pretty sure the insurance company has definitely seen this video and checked it over and over.
I have a Pelican costume that I have to get rid of quickly!
As the saying goes…more money than brains, then again, it was an american driving. They know how to make things go fast, but they don’t know how to turn. Any wonder so many yanks die in car crashes and are involved in fifty car pile ups. Get their best driver to go head to head with one of our v8 drivers or sebastian loeb, see who comes out first (or in one piece at least). He must have been doing about 100km/h and turned straight into a lake…what a dick.
just a follow up…note the air brake now up. Obviously hit the anchors just a little bit too late ie when in water. Ha ha ha to the driver. RIP a beautifully made piece of craftsmanship
eminem is Gay
not the happy Gay but the Like’s the company of men Gay.
Ah the old Pelican story. Round here we usually balme a mysterious black dog. He probably though he might have more shot with the insurance that just sayng I’m a d**khead who drove off the road for no apparent reason.
$2.25 million car and not even a tow point to haul you out of the water.
this guy is a total idiot
this guy crashing a veyron is just inhumane
Bozo
What’s up one, I’m brand-new to the forum and just wanted to roughly hey. hi devotion manipulate to comprehend unexplored pepole and allowance things with them
father a contented year
Who crashes a car at 100km/h, when they were going in a straight line! And then to say they were distracted by a pelican? Should of come up with a better story than that mate, eg: something involving aliens…………and what about the dofis flilming saying “I think its a Lomborghini……….ARE YOU BLIND? they look nothing alike!
Opps…….spelt Lamborghini wrong. Sorry
Remember what James said to Richard when they went to Botswana and Richard drowned Oliver in the river, try telling that to the Veyron owner.
I reckon if he could buy the car in the first place he’ll have the money to get another, and if not…we all know he’ll refinance his house to get something like an Aston Martin. And he will get an Aston because we know that his house is only worth 100,000 pounds, and it is that cheap because he spent all his money on the Bugatti.
